    • Our MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) class is changing lives. Scott writes about the amazing effects it had for him: "After a close sibling of mine referred me and after much encouragement from family, I sought out one of Pete’s MBSR workshops in hopes of achieving a more meaningful and quality lifestyle and state of well being. I’ve suffered from depression and anxiety my whole life. In conjunction w/ my medicine, mindfulness has changed my life. My neck pain has been alleviated to almost nothing, I no longer take medication to sleep at night; my personal relationships are stronger and more meaningful than ever. I never realized how much of an impact stress had on the mind and body. I had always sensed it in my mind but never thought or believed it to have such harsh effects in the body (chronic neck/back pain). I’ve been recovered from drug addiction for 4 years now. 2 years ago I founded a Sober House for addicts/alcoholics in recovery. This proved to be the biggest challenge of my life. At a very low point in the business and in my sobriety, I was encouraged to take the MBSR workshop. Doing so proved to be a life-saving/changing event and I grew spiritually to levels that were once unimaginable to me. I now carry the practice of mindfulness w/ me everywhere I go and practice it in every facet of my life. It has been so influential to me that I have chosen to implement it into my recovery program w/ the aim of helping others to slow down in life, respond instead of react, and to lower their stress levels. Mindfulness is where it’s at. I promise. Considering all people have some level of addiction in one form or another, I feel like many may be able to relate to my condition." • We are fully on board with all of these tips, especially #3: Always listen to your body! We bring mindful awareness to our bodies through our yoga practice, but only YOU know exactly how YOU feel. One tip not listed that is 100% OK at Wellness 360 is to Ask Questions! If you are wondering something, chances are someone else in the class is also. Happy Practicing! http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-14475/7-ways-to-get-the-most-out-of-a-yoga-class.html

Yoga can provide many benefits to its practitioners. But how can you get the most out of your time on the mat? It's one of the questions I get asked most by my students.
